Harp and Bowl: Revelation 5:8, Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. The Prayer format of heaven from Rev 5:8 tell us of the 24 Elders around the Throne of God then and today. We understand this to be both literal and symbolic. The Prayer House seeks to model its prayer meetings after what we understand to be happening in heavenly worship.
The Elders minister with the Harp (the praise and worship of the saints and angels). The Elders minister with the Bowl (intercessory prayers of the saints). This style of ministry in The Prayer House is a joyful symphony of adoring worship woven together with prayers of intercession and God centered spiritual warfare. As we move with the model of heavenly intercessory worship we have fascinated and exhilarated hearts as we gaze on this beautiful God with burning hearts.
Intercessory Missionary: The Prayer House focuses on the "prayer & worship side" of the Great Commission. God is rising up Intercessory Missionaries. We are all familiar with missionaries who focus on preaching or mercy deeds such as YWAM and other powerful missionary movements of God. But the Lord is calling forth a new type of missionary that is essential to completing the Great Commission.
An intercessory missionary's primary focus is changing the spiritual atmosphere over cities, regions and nations through 'intercessory worship' with the direct result that the people in those places would seek the Lord (Acts 15:17). This ministry provides one of the Scriptural requirements for God to release the fullness of revival. The Scripture makes this clear and history proves that God is orchestrating a mighty intercessory worship movement covering the earth in the generation the Lord returns. Thus, The Prayer House will be an incubator for IMs.
Israel Mandate: The Prayer House of Chico is committed to seeing the nation of Israel walking in their full destiny at the end of the age. Our primary role is to pray for and partner with Messianic Jews who are living in Israel. The operation and visitation of the spirit in Israel is a vital part of releasing the great end-time harvest among the nations
(Ezekiel 36:2336). However, this full release will only come as a result of a body of believers who are committed to a life of night and day prayer living a fasted lifestyle
End Times: (also known as the end of the age) This is the generation in which the Lord will return; the final decades of this current era of human history in which many major events occur: "the birth pains" begin, the Temple is rebuilt in Jerusalem, the Antichrist is revealed, the abomination that causes desolation is set up in the Temple, the seals, bowls and trumpets are released, there is a worldwide revival led by the Church, etc. The End Times will culminate with Jesus' physical Second Coming as He establishes His literal Millennial Reign on Earth, followed by the Eternal Age.
Forerunner Ministry: The purpose of this ministry is to announce the unprecedented activities of the Lord that are just around the corner in order to make sense of what is happening and what is about to happen. The forerunner ministry has three main activities at the end of the age: restoring the First Commandment to first place, releasing miracles to bring in the Great Harvest, and releasing the temporal judgments of God. John the Baptist and the prophet Isaiah are two examples of the forerunner ministry.
Worship with the Word: One of four prayer formats observed at The Prayer House, Chico: a worship team provides an anointed atmosphere for people to meditate on the Word in a focused time of study; the worship team selects a passage to sing through antiphonally as they expound on the themes within each verse, thus "worshipping with the Word"; the prayer room acts as a "singing seminary" in this way.Tabernacle of David: David established a worship ministry in which he set 4,000 musicians and 288 prophetic singers before the Ark of the Covenant (1 Chronicles 15:1; 16:1-6; 23:5; 25:7; 37-42). The "restoration of the Tabernacle of David" refers to Jesus establishing His Throne in Jerusalem at the Second Coming and ruling the Earth in context to prayer and worship (Amos 9:11-15; Isaiah 56:7).
Prophetic Worship: One of four prayer formats observed at The Prayer House, Chico: a worship team provides an anointed atmosphere for people to focus on worshipping God. During worship, discerned themes that the Holy Spirit is emphasizing (holiness, healing, deliverance, etc.) are expressed with opportunities for ministry (John 3:1-8; Zechariah 4:6; James 5:13-16).
Devotional: One of four prayer formats observed at The Prayer House, Chico: a worship team provides an anointed atmosphere for people to read and meditate on Scripture and listen to God's Spirit (Psalm 27:4, 8 and 14; Isaiah 30:15). Bridal Paradigm: This term at The Prayer House is used to describe a view of God presented in Scripture which reveals God as passionate and emotional, and filled with gladness, affection and beauty. Whether Jew or Gentile, the redeemed are described in the Bible as the Bride of Christ, while Jesus is presented as a passionate Bridegroom who loves the redeemed and lies down His life for them. By the Father's design and the Son's passionate work on the cross, the Holy Spirit is bringing forth a remnant out of the human race to be voluntary lovers of God. These redeemed, the Bride of Christ, will corule in intimate relationship forever with Jesus, the Bridegroom God.
Friend of the Bridegroom: Jesus Christ refers to Himself as the Bridegroom. John the Baptist refers to himself as a friend of the Bridegroom who stands and hears the Bridegrooms voice and is glad (John 3:29; John 15:14-15); this is the primary identity of a forerunner Captivated/Fascinated/Ravished Heart. In the context of the Bridal Paradigm, this refers to someone who is wholeheartedly in love with God. In the natural, this refers to a heart moved with deep emotion and love due to the actions of their lover (Song 4:9).
Apostolic Intercession: Intercessory prayer to God on behalf of others derived from the apostles' prayers written in the New Testament, which reflect the desires of Gods heart for the people. Common examples of apostolic prayers are Ephesians 1:17-19, Philippians1:9-1 and Matthew 6:913. Because of the divine and positive nature of the apostolic prayers, The Prayer House, Chico uses these portions of Scripture to intercede for our geographic region.
Fasted Lifestyle: Voluntarily choosing a lifestyle of simplicity which limits various things in life: food, money or accumulating things, status, recognition, etc. While the rewards are primarily internal and spiritual, they are also eternal (Isaiah 58; Matthew 6:18, 9:14-17; 1 Corinthians 2:10).
Bridegroom Fast: Another dimension of glory that Jesus added to the doctrine of fasting (Matthew 9:15). In this way, fasting is not simply abstaining; instead it becomes the expression of longing and mourning for the presence of the Bridegroom, Jesus Christ.
Open Heaven: A pronounced increase, in a particular season, of the supernatural invading the natural; examples throughout Scripture include Genesis 28:12, Exodus 24:9-11, Ezekiel 1-3, John 1:51 and Revelation 1.
